Harbour Festival has been taking place in Bristol this weekend

This week in the west, there was World Cup disappointment and thousands of people celebrated their graduation.

Our weather watchers captured some beautiful wildlife, and huge crowds gathered for Bristol's annual Harbour Festival.

Flying on Fire: James Prestwood has returned to Bristol's Harbour Fest, soaring over the water on his flyboard. This year, he showed off with a firework after-dark show.

Fossils to fellowship: Fossil collector Simon Carpenter has received an honorary degree from the University of Bristol. He is best known for discovering a previously unknown species of pliosaur, later named Pliosaurus carpenteri in his honour.

Seeking sole mate: Bristol Zoo Project is looking for a match for a critically endangered Cameroon cichlid fish after discovering that just one of them is recorded in accredited zoos worldwide. It is now appealing to zoos, aquariums and specialist fish keepers to help the fish find 'the one' by identifying others of the same species.

Sun's out: People have been out enjoying the warm weather in Queen Square, Bristol this week.

Parading around: A group of para-orchestra musicians took to the streets of Gloucester this week for a giant parade through Tredworth. The event called SMOOSH! also involved dancers and local people performing a selection of karaoke classics.

Wiltshire

Duck adventures: A small pink duck sat in on the Sue Davies show on BBC Radio Wiltshire. It forms part of a project called 'Cmducks' started by Chloe Mae whose mother, Bex, has stage 4 breast cancer. Bex created the ducks so she could create a positive legacy for her daughter.

Evening skies: Thank you to Weather Watcher Runner for this picture of the Amesbury Archer at dusk. The statue, located at Archers Gate in Amesbury, was inspired by a 2,300 BC Bronze Age man whose grave was discovered during excavations at the site of a new housing development.

In stitches: Threads Textile Festival is under way until 25 July at 20 Canal Walk, next to McDonald's at the Brunel. The fortnight-long celebration aims to bring the community together through the medium of textile art. It has been organised by charity Artsite alongside Swindon Stitch Social and the Big Knit.

Huge blaze: Firefighters tackled a large woodchip fire at Chipmunk South West, a manufacturing business on Ilminster Road in Henlade, near Taunton, this week. A cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
