Pair charged with murdering street cleaner in 2023

Two men have been charged with the murder of a street cleaner who died following an assault in Derby city centre almost three years ago.

Derbyshire Police said Kevin Clarry suffered serious head and facial injuries in an altercation in St Peter's Street shortly after 06:00 GMT on 28 October 2023.

The 66-year-old was found collapsed at his home in Derby on 11 December 2024 and died in hospital three days later.

Miles Jones, 29, formerly of Hall Park Close, Derby, and Stephen Beresford, 27, formerly of Charnwood Street, Derby have been charged with his murder and are due to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court on Friday.
