Rail services between Southend Victoria and Wickford have been affected after a person was hit by a train.

The incident led to disruption in Essex on the London to Southend Victoria line and the London to Braintree line. National Rail said the incident happened at about 07:50 BST.

Greater Anglia said all lines had since reopened but trains would not be stopping at Prittlewell until further notice.

It added that services might be cancelled, altered or delayed while investigators remained at the scene.
