Major crop blaze tackled by dozens of firefighters

More than 40 firefighters are tackling a major crop blaze in a field in south Staffordshire.

Crews were called to the site in Shipley just before 13:00 BST, following reports of the large fire, Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said.

Eight fire engines are at the scene, off Bridgnorth Road.

People have been advised to avoid the area where possible and nearby residents are advised to keep windows and doors closed.
