Police officer in court over child sex allegations
BBCA police officer has appeared in court charged with child sex offences, alleged to have taken place while off-duty in 2005.
Insp Scott Raghib, 45, whose address was given at the hearing as Bedfordshire Police headquarters, has been charged with one count of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child aged 13-15 and two counts of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a boy aged 13-15.
He appeared at Northampton Magistrates' Court wearing a dark suit and tie and spoke to confirm his name and date of birth.
He was remanded on unconditional bail to appear at Northampton Crown Court in September.
Raghib was arrested in June 2024 as part of an investigation by Northamptonshire Police and was immediately suspended from duty.
