A former West Yorkshire Police officer has been sentenced after admitting sexual assault and assault offences committed against two women during a night out in Leeds.

Ben Hutchison, 26, who was based in Kirklees, pleaded guilty to sexual assault and assault by beating in relation to offences in August 2025.

He appeared at Leeds Crown Court and was given a community order requiring him to undertake rehabilitation activities, complete 120 hours of unpaid work and abstain from alcohol for 90 days.

Hutchison, from Rochdale, resigned from West Yorkshire Police in April but the force said he would still be the subject of a gross misconduct hearing, with a view to being banned from the profession.
