A man is to stand trial charged with the murder of another man at a holiday park in Wemyss Bay, Inverclyde.

Sean Ward, 22, is accused of killing Raymond Cosgrove in a knife attack in September 2025 in a caravan in Rothesay Gardens at the Parkdean resort.

Prosecutors claim Ward repeatedly struck and stabbed the 33-year-old on the body with a blade or similar weapon.

Lawyers for Ward pled not guilty on his behalf during a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow.

Police were called to the incident just after midnight on 14 September.

The indictment states Cosgrove was so badly hurt that he died at the scene.

Ward faces a separate charge of assaulting a woman at the holiday park.

Other accusations include a further claim that he attacked a man with an axe in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire in May 2025.

A trial is scheduled to begin in September 2027.

At the time of the incident, a spokesperson for Wemyss Holiday Park said they could not comment on the investigation, but that they extended their deepest condolences to the family of the victim.
