Football ban for man, 21, who took knife to match

A man has been given a three-year football banning order after he brought a knife into a match.

Lewis Campbell-Williams, 21, from Brasted in Kent, was given a three-year Football Banning Order after bringing a weapon to a Reading FC fixture in April at Slough Magistrates' Court on Friday.

He was also sentenced to one year in prison, suspended for 18 months, ordered to complete 180 hours of unpaid work and pay £360 in costs.

In a statement Thames Valley Police said: "Football should be a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Thanks to the swift actions of officers at the match, the weapon was located and the offender was arrested and subsequently convicted."
