Charity skydive tribute to PC who died in crash

The partner of a Kent Police officer who died after a car crash while responding to an emergency call has completed a charity skydive in his memory.

PC Bradley Corke, 27, was critically injured in the crash in Farningham, near Swanley, in March.

Hannah Kitney is raising funds for Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex, which airlifted the officer to a London hospital following the car crash.

She said: "They're an amazing charity who help so many people."

Kitney and Corke had been together for five years and lived in Hastings, East Sussex.

She drove to London after the crash with her mother, which, she told the BBC, was her "the longest drive of my entire life".

Kitney carried out the 12,000 ft (3,657m) skydive in her partner's honour on Saturday.

She said there were "so many people out supporting them" which was "really nice".

The air ambulance intervention allowed Corke's family to be with him in hospital where he died two days later.

Steve Corke, Bradley's father, said: "This charity is so important.

"They are angels who gave us that extra 48 hours with him."

Katie Langley, Corke's best friend, also joined in with the fundraising skydive.

She said: "Our target originally was just £1,000, so to reach £14,000 just three months on is incredible.

"It's crazy."
