Lieutenant governor to be patron of national park

The Lieutenant Governor of Jersey, Vice Admiral Sir Jeremy Kyd has agreed to become the patron of the Jersey National Park.

The chair of the park said the trust was "absolutely delighted" with the appointment of Sir Jeremy.

Chair Jim Hopley said: "We look forward to working with His Excellency on promoting the park and all the work that is done to support its aims."

The park, which spans more than 2,000 hectares, was established to protect and enhance the island's most special landscapes whilst ensuring it remained accessible, valued and enjoyed for future generations.
