Neil McCann's side were frustrated by second-tier Raith Rovers
Kilmarnock claimed a penalty shootout bonus point after being held to a goalless draw by second-tier Raith Rovers in their Scottish League Cup group opener.
Neil McCann called on his players to back up the optimism his team had built at the end of last season, but they were frustrated by their Championship opponents.
However, a 4-2 victory in the subsequent penalty shootout earned what could be a crucial bonus point.
The match was played at Auchinleck Talbot's Beechwood Park while a new grass surface is being laid at Kilmarnock's Rugby Park.
