How do you keep yourself motivated when you just keep winning?

Well, for Luke Litter, finding new records to break seems to be the way and he’s got another in his sights tonight.

To beat his own nightly wins record he must first get past his good mate Josh Rock - and based on the walk-ins, the crowd are backing the Northern Irishman.

Luke Littler and Josh Rock have met just twice in this season's Premier League.

'The Nuke' has won both meetings.

He beat the Northern Irishman 6-4 in the quarter-finals of night five in Cardiff and then won 6-3 in the last eight on night 13 in Aberdeen.

It's worth noting that Littler won the whole night both times after beating Rock.

A sign of things to come tonight in Sheffield, perhaps?

With six wins under his belt in the Premier League this season, a seventh will be a record for Luke Littler.

I'm sure Littler will be well aware of this and will be trying his best to set another record in his young career.

But first of all, he's got to get past Northern Irishman Josh Rock.

Having shot up to third in the world rankings as a result of his run to the World Championship final and his triumph at the European Championship last year, Gian van Veen was fully deserving of his spot in this year's eight-man line-up.

It has been far from straightforward on debut for the Dutchman who missed night seven in Dublin after being diagnosed with kidney stones.

Despite those health issues, the 24-year-old can still take plenty of encouragement from his debut season in the competition having been within touching distance of the top four for most of the season.

'The Giant' is likely to be a regular in the Premier League for a number of years, and, like many others before him, will only benefit from his debut year in the competition.

Higher average, more clinical on the doubles and the highest checkout - Gerwyn Price dominated that match.

Well, Wayne, it's Gerwyn Price with the upper hand. For now.

Gerwyn Price and Luke Humphries are lying if they say they don't want to finish third to avoid Luke Littler in the semi-finals next week. Everyone wants to avoid him, especially over the longer format.

Both would prefer to play Jonny Clayton and that is no disrespect to him.

After losing the sixth leg, Gezzy puffed his cheeks as if he knew van Veen was turning on the style.

But there was a visible fist bump when he won the seventh leg to make it 5-2.

Gerwyn Price finds a fourth 180 of the match to take control and he's down to finish first again.

With 72 left, Price hits T16 and D12 to move one leg away.

Gian van Veen's blood is pumping now as he finds a 180 to chip his score down to 100.

GVV finds the T20 needed but goes high on tops, but Gerwyn Price wires his double effort.

Back comes Van Veen for back-to-back legs.

Finally, Gian van Veen is down to a finish first but Gerwyn Price piles pressure on with a 180.

The pressure doesn't tell, though, as Van Veen nails double 10 for a leg on the board.
