World number two Jim Furyk has confirmed he will play in the USPGA Championship, which starts on Thursday, despite problems with a back injury.
Furyk pulled out of last week's WGC Bridgestone Invitational after huring his back during practice.
"My whole determination was whether or not I had enough motion to make the swing I wanted to," he said.
"I have that ability. I'm not swinging like I want to but physically I'm in a pretty good state right now."
The in-form American won Canadian Open a fortnight ago and that victory saw him overtake Phil Mickelson in the world rankings as the new number two behind Tiger Woods.

The American tied for second at the US Open at Oakmont in June and was tied for 12th at last month's Open at Carnoustie.
He added: "I think this golf course would really suit my game. I pride myself on being able to manoeuvre the ball and power is not going to come into play here.
