Down to earth advice on growing your own fruit and vegetables with allotment gardener Terry Walton, from his plot in the Rhondda Valley. It's the summer solstice, with over sixteen hours of gardening hours to take advantage of, but are the temperatures rising enough to help the crops grow? The colder night temperatures have meant more feeding is necessary and Terry has tips on how to help your plants along. It's time to pick the broad beans, and pinch the flowers out so the plant can put all its energy inside the pods. And the wet weather has meant the leaves of the garlic have been affected by rust, so its time for an early harvest and careful storage.
