The state pension is rising by 8.5% from April for the UK’s 12 million pensioners. The increase is in line with earnings as part of the Government’s triple lock. It means that those on the basic rate will received £169.50 a week and those on the new flat rate with get £221.20 a week. Nicky Campbell asked 5 Live listeners if they think the increase is fair?
