Spain beat Argentina to win World Cup

Spain defeated Argentina one- nil after extra time, in an often cagey and sometimes tetchy final in New Jersey. Spain's fans erupted in joy at the final whistle, but there were ugly scenes on the pitch as some Argentine players clashed with the victors.
