DJ Jacky Logan: ‘The Rivoli Ballroom is like a magical world’
This Ballroom and Latin DJ’s favourite building didn’t come as a surprise to Robert.
Jacky Logan has been a DJ since 1980. Initially, she ran mobile discos for parties, benefits and clubs, but turned her hand to Ballroom and Latin Dance Music in 1994.
She’s been campaigning for equality for dancers who want to dance with same gender partners for 30 years, and was awarded a British Empire Medal in 2020 for service for services to Same-sex Ballroom Dancing.
Jacky still runs a Ballroom and Latin dance night called DJ Jacky’s Jukebox at the Rivoli Ballroom once a month. When not on the decks she also competes in dance competitions with her partner Mary.
