Prog rock ripples and Jane Weaver's Listening Chair

Elizabeth Alker with a prog-inspired late-night journey through new music from today’s most exciting genre-defying artists.

Elizabeth Alker journeys through new music from today’s most exciting genre-defying artists. This week - with a nod to the previous night's BBC Proms concert celebrating the pioneering sounds of British prog rock - Elizabeth offers up a selection of tracks by contemporary artists who have built on the musical legacy of acts like ELP, Gong and King Crimson, including London trio Vanishing Twin and Australia's King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.

Also, fresh from her performance at the Prog Rock: A Fanfare for the Common Man Prom, singer-songwriter Jane Weaver is in the Unclassified Listening Chair to share a classic track that transports her.
